Kenya Will Produce Construction Materials from Plastic Wastes

An environmental scientist in the town of Gigil, Kenya, started to produce tiles and other building materials using plastic waste collected from hotels, shops and schools.

Hope Mwanke, 30, has done a lot of research and has decided to produce building materials in his factory in Gigil to make the most efficient use of plastic waste.

The company also received support from the Kenyan government, which promotes the use of sustainable green materials as part of the East African country’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions from the construction industry.
