South Africa Farmers China Expansion

South Africa aims to expand its citrus fruit market by opening to China. China currently accounts for about 10 percent of South African citrus exports.

Citrus farmer Hendrick Warnich, “South Africa produces quality fruits and we believe that the Chinese market values good products.” said.

South Africa is expected to break a record by exporting 137 million boxes of citrus fruits to more than 100 countries this year. According to Business Insider South Africa, more than 92% of the total revenue of the local citrus industry comes from exports.
