UA Niger Summit 2019 Day D-7: Decked out In Treasure of Billions, Niamey Is Waiting for Its Guests

The summit of the African Union in Niger next week has offered a real opportunity to endow the capital Niamey with modern infrastructures.

The State has injected no less than 200 billion CFA francs for the construction of infrastructure that elevates Niamey to the rank of large modern cities. Private investors have also contributed.

The showcase of the capital, the Diori Hamani Airport of Niamey was renovated and modernized by a Turkish company for 101 billion francs under the public-private partnership.

The renovated airport allows for aircraft of all categories. The construction of a two-level terminal with its technical specificities, the realization of a presidential lounge, another for VIPs and a parking for presidential planes but also the expansion of the parking of commercial aircraft and a terminal for the freight.
