Uber Drivers Begin Strike in Kenya

Kenyan taxi drivers who use hailing apps such as Uber have gone on strike to force operators to double fares.

The drivers of Uber, Bolt and other taxi apps through their umbrella lobby Digital Taxi Forum announced the indefinite strike that begun on Monday.

Waweru Jamaicah the secretary general of the Drivers and Partners Association of Kenya, said that the strikers want better working terms, a sustainable business model and the introduction of an online taxi regulations.
