The newly-appointed prime minister of Guinea-Bissau, Faustino Fudut Imbali resigned after it was given the ultimatum him by the West African regional bloc Ecowas.

Vaz dissolved the government, accusing the political situation of undermining the normal functioning of state institutions in the West African country. The regional bloc, the ECOWAS condemned movement and held a summit on the political situation in Guinea-Bissau. According to the summit, ECOWAS will apply sanctions to the country in case of termination of the government.
