Senegal-China: Trade and FDI Maintain Their Upward Trend

A 3.7% increase in trade between Senegal and China, the first direct investor in La Teranga for the year 2018. China has made significant investments in the country in key infrastructure sectors, health, training, culture or agriculture.

China is Senegal’s second largest trading partner and the leading investor in the country. It has invested in several infrastructure projects in Senegal including the big National Theater inaugurated in 2011 and the Museum of Black Civilizations received 2018 and financed by China to more than 30 million dollars.
